Terms of Service

Welcome to Recount. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Recount ("we," "us," "our") governing your access to and use of recount.tv (the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

1. What this Site is

Recount is a pre-launch informational and marketing site for a desktop application (also called Recount) currently in development. The application is designed to let competitive gaming squads record their gameplay and review synchronized multi-player-of-view (multi-POV) footage together, with annotation, notes, and audio review tools.

The Site itself:

  • Describes the application and its planned features
  • Displays screenshots of the application in development
  • Allows visitors to join an email waitlist for early access

The Site does not currently offer the application for download, and no account creation, purchase, or in-app functionality is available through the Site.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to submit your email address.

3. Waitlist signup

If you submit your email address to join the waitlist, you're agreeing to let us:

  • Store that email address
  • Contact you with updates about Recount's development, launch, and early access opportunities

4. Acceptable use of the Site

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its underlying systems
  • Submit false or fraudulent information via the waitlist form
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect content or data from the Site without our written permission

5. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — text, graphics, screenshots, logos, and the Recount name and branding — is owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without our written permission.

6. Third-party trademarks and platform disclaimer

Recount references Valorant, League of Legends, and other third-party competitive games solely to describe planned compatibility and functionality. These are trademarks of their respective owners.

Recount is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Riot Games, Inc. or any other game publisher referenced on this Site. Recount does not reflect the views or opinions of Riot Games or anyone officially involved in producing or managing Riot Games properties.

We do not sell, misuse, or improperly disclose any data obtained through official game APIs, and we do not intend to build functionality that creates an unfair competitive advantage, enables cheating, or alters the intended outcome of any game.

7. No warranty

The Site and all information on it — including feature descriptions, screenshots, and any stated timelines — are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Recount is under active development. Features, designs, pricing, and launch timelines described on the Site are subject to change without notice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Recount and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Site.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Recount harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms as the Site and product evolve, and particularly once the Recount application itself becomes available — at which point these Terms will be substantially expanded to cover application use, account terms, and any paid features. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever changes are made. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
