Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 9, 2026
Last updated: August 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Recount ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information through recount.tv (the "Site"), the pre-launch marketing site for the Recount application.
1. Information we collect
At this stage, the Site collects only:
Information you provide:
- Email address — if you voluntarily submit it to join our waitlist.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic analytics data — aggregated, non-identifying traffic data (e.g. pages visited, referring source, general device/browser type), collected through our hosting and analytics providers to understand how visitors use the Site.
We do not currently collect gameplay recordings, video, audio, in-game account data, or payment information through this Site — the Recount application itself is not yet available here, and none of that functionality exists on the Site.
2. How we use your information
- Email address: used solely to notify you about Recount's development, launch timeline, and early access. We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address to third parties.
- Analytics data: used in aggregate to understand and improve the Site's performance and content. This data is not used to identify you individually.
3. Legal basis for processing (for visitors in the EU/UK)
If you're located in the EU or UK, our legal basis for processing your email address is your consent, given when you submit the waitlist form. You may withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us — see Section 6.
4. How we store and protect your information
Waitlist emails are stored in our database (hosted via Supabase) with access limited to the Recount team. We use industry-standard measures to protect this data, though no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
We retain your email address until you unsubscribe, request deletion, or (at the latest) until the waitlist is closed following the application's public launch.
5. Cookies and tracking
The Site may use minimal cookies or similar technologies from our hosting and analytics providers to understand aggregate traffic. We don't use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site behavioral tracking on this Site.
6. Your rights and choices
Regardless of location, you can:
- Unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send
- Request access to or deletion of your email address by contacting [email protected]
If you're in the EU/UK/California or another jurisdiction with statutory privacy rights (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may also have rights to data portability, correction, or to object to processing — contact us at [email protected] and we'll respond within a reasonable time, consistent with applicable law.
7. Third-party service providers
We use third-party infrastructure providers to operate the Site, including hosting, database, and analytics services. These providers process data solely on our behalf, under their own security and privacy practices. We do not share your email address with any third party for their own marketing purposes.
8. Riot Games data
Recount's planned functionality includes displaying match statistics sourced from Riot Games' official API once we're approved for production access. This Site does not currently connect to or process any live Riot Games API data — screenshots shown on the Site use illustrative example data only.
When the Recount application launches with live Riot API integration, this Privacy Policy will be updated to specifically describe what Riot-sourced data is accessed (e.g. match history, stats), how it's used, how long it's retained, and how it can be deleted — consistent with Riot's API policies, which require that we not misuse, resell, or improperly disclose any data obtained through their API.
9. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we've inadvertently collected such information, we'll delete it promptly.
10. International users
If you're accessing the Site from outside the United Kingdom, be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United Kingdom or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.
11. Changes to this policy
As Recount moves from pre-launch to a live application, this Privacy Policy will be substantially expanded to address local and cloud video/audio recording, squad-level data sharing, account data, and retention and deletion controls in real detail. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever changes are made, and will provide more prominent notice for material changes.
12. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy, or requests regarding your data, can be sent to [email protected].
